Visa and passport
It is advisable that all travelers to Myanmar obtain a visa in advance. A foreign individual tourist (FIT) visa is valid for 28 days and may be extendable in Myanmar, subject to current regulations. Visas can be obtained at Myanmar embassies or consulates worldwide. A passport with a minimum of six months of validity is required.

Travel Insurance
We recommend that all visitors obtain travelers insurance such as short-term health and accident policies before coming to Myanmar.

How to get to Bagan
Nyaung Oo Airport (Bagan) is served by Myanmar’s domestic airlines flights are available from Yangon, Heho and Mandalay. The configuration is either 40 seats (ATR – 42) or 70 seats (ATR 72). Air Bagan operates Fokker – 100 Dutch-made jet aircraft with 95 seats.
Hotel - Blue Bird Bagan is only a 10-minute drive from the airport.

Currency
The national currency is the Myanmar Kyat. Myanmar is a cash country, since credit cards, traveler’s checks and foreign currencies are not widely accepted.
Hotel - Blue Bird Bagan accepts the settlement of room charges and other incidental charges in USD in cash.

Electricity
230 volts, 50 hertz, adaptors are recommended as the hotel features UK standard plugs. Adaptors are available at the Front Desk.

Language
The official language is Myanmar but English is widely spoken as well as at Hotel-Blue Bird.

Weather and clothing

  Winter (October to February): Warm clothes for early morning and evenings, lighter clothing for the rest of the day
 
 
  Summer (March to May): Light yet conservative attire, especially on temple visits
 
 
  Monsoon (June to September):

Bagan is located in the central dry region, and therefore experiences relatively little rain during monsoon. To be safe, bring umbrella and wear clothing made from quick-drying fabrics.
 

 
  For temple visits and sightseeing:

conservative attire and comfortable shoes that are easy to out on and off are strongly recommended. Sandals are the best choice.
